Unsettled infant behaviour can be a hard time for parents, however this is one of the most common presentations in early life. The first 16 weeks is a particularly sensitive period neurologically, after which crying and fussing typically settles. Keeping in line with Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) we will look at gut, feeding, sleep, and sensory needs to encourage cued care to supporting you to respond to your baby’s needs. There is usually a lot that can be done to make the days and nights more enjoyable.
Existing evaluations of NDC are positive, showing halved crying and fussing, substantially improved maternal mood, and improved sleep.
